Play as Metal Sonic:
Collect the five Sonic Tokens on the Resort Island course and finish in the top three positions. Then, beat Mecha Sonic in the bonus race. Note: This character can float in water for a limited amount of time.

Play as Metal Tails:
Collect the five Sonic Tokens on the Radical City course and finish in the top three positions. Then, beat Mecha Tails in the bonus race. Note: This character can float in water for a limited amount of time.

Play as Egg Robo:
Collect the five Sonic Tokens on the Regal Ruin course and finish in the top three positions. Then, beat Egg Robo in the bonus race.

Play as Metal Knuckles:
Collect the five Sonic Tokens on the Reactive Factory course and finish in the top three positions. Then, beat Mecha Knuckles in the bonus race. Note: This character can float in water for a limited amount of time.

Play as Dr. Robotnik:
Finish in first place in the in the Radiant Emerald course.

Play as Super Sonic:
Collect all seven emeralds from the first four courses. Highlight Sonic on the character select screen and press Up or Down.

Play as same character:
Have player one select any character. Highlight the same character and hold X + Y + Z on controller two. Note: This code is also valid when selected bonus characters. Alternatively, highlight the same character, then hold X and press A on both controllers.

Play hidden characters in two player mode:
Race one of the hidden characters, but do not win. Enter two player mode and hold Right on controller two. Player two's icon should be in the hidden character zone. If you go outside the hidden character zone, you cannot get back in - if this happens, just repeat the code. While you are in the hidden character zone, press A to choose the hidden character.

Radiant Emerald course:
Finish in first place in each of the first four courses. Note: Play this course as Super Sonic to hear a slightly different background song.

All Emeralds:
Hold Left and remain motionless until two laps are completed by another racer.

Alternate soundtrack:
Race the Radiant Emerald course as Super Sonic for an extended version of the title song.

Control title screen logo:
Use the D-pad at the title screen to rotate the "R". Press B to make the "R" metallic in appearance. Press X or Y to shade the "R". Press A to return the "R" to its original appearance.

Change menu pictures:
Press L or R when in a menu to change the picture displayed above the selection bar.

Full screen pause:
Pause game play and press X + Y + Z.

Skip end credits:
Hold A + B + C and press Start.

Hint: Radiant Emerald course: Flame power-up:
Go to the location where you can play a quick pinball game as Amy or Super Sonic to get a flame power-up.
